We are delighted that as of Tuesday 27 April, we are now able to welcome you back inside the Library at Kirkcaldy Galleries.

To begin with we are offering a Limited Browsing service, which means a limited number of people in the library at any one time. You can select books, use public access PCs and other basic offerings such as photocopying, printing and collecting hearing aid batteries.  The Connect and Collect Service will still be available if you would like the library staff to pick a selection of books for you and you can pick up your bag of books from the door if you prefer.

Our Local Studies Service is also reopening on Tues 27 April. You can now book a one-hour appointment online.

Book a Local Studies visit HERE  While restrictions are in place, we will be providing a tailored, one-to-one visitor service at Kirkcaldy Galleries.

As you would expect, there will be safety measures in place and everyone must follow Scottish Government FACTS guidelines.

Our temporary opening hours are:

Making sure you have a safe and enjoyable visit is our number one priority:

  • We have clear safety measures and procedures in place across the building.
  • We would ask that all customers wear a face covering.
  • Toilets will be open but on a one-person at a time basis. If there is a queue, please keep a two-metre distance from others.
  • The number of people we can have in the building at one time is limited so advance booking is essential for the Galleries and Local Studies and there will be a queuing system in place in our libraries.
  • Public access PCs will also be available again but with restrictions to allow for physical distancing and cleaning.
