MAC - Fife's Mobile Museum

MAC brings a whole museum to your doorstep!

The only one of its type in Scotland, this unique service visits schools, community venues and events throughout the year. Our specially commissioned vehicle is fully accessible with a lift and induction loop.

Book a free visit from our touring exhibition The Pilgrim Express. Travel back in time to Medieval Scotland when the Golden Age of pilgrimage took hold and transformed the landscape of Fife forever. Discover pilgrims' motives, what they saw and conditions they endured on their journey. Young or old, saint or sinner, The Pilgrim Express offers something for everyone and celebrates the launch this year of the long distance walking route The Fife Pilgrim Way.

800 years ago pilgrims flocked to Fife from all over Britain and Europe to pray to the relics of two saints: St Andrew at the cathedral in the town of the same name and St Margaret at her shrine in Dunfermline Abbey.

The 69 mile long Fife Pilgrim Way allows you to follow the route from North Queensferry via Dunfermline to St Andrews. For more information on the long distance path go to www.fifecoastandcountrysidetrust.co.uk
